It is vital that you order approximately 5%-10% extra turf for filling odd spaces, to allow for shrinkage, edges and for any innacuracy in measuring.

Turf is laid along the longest straight edge, with each subsequent strip butted and folded next to it, allowing for shrinkage and ensuring the strips of turf are not damaged, holed or stretched.
